Urban Being Sued by ‘Baby Come Back’ Guitarist

Keith Urban is selling a guitar lesson kit including a DVD package called “Player by Keith Urban 30 Songs in 30 Days” and “Keith Urban Deluxe Player Guitar.” The kit includes a 30-disk DVD set where Keith promises the student will learn how to play 30 songs in 30 days.

Peter Beckett, guitarist from the 1970’s band Player, is suing Keith Urban claiming that he infringed on the band’s name, using it in the title of his guitar lesson kit. The ’70s band had huge success with their hit song ‘Baby Come Back.’ The dispute rises the possibility of trademark violations from the band’s name being used on these products being sold without legal permission. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see how this situation unfolds for Urban.
